The DCR Summer Nights Program – Boston Massachusetts Community Service Program
Congratulations to Malcolm Bailey on Receiving Award for Community Service
Malcolm Bailey, the head of the Old Colony YMCA of Brockton Summer Nights Basketball Program, has been awarded the City of Boston’s Community Service Award for his outstanding work in providing safe and enriching activities for young people in the city of Brockton Massachusetts and beyond.
The DCR Summer Nights Program was launched in 2015 to provide targeted urban young people aged 13-21 in urban areas with the opportunity to join in on recreational and educational activities during evening hours. Under Malcolm’s leadership, the program has grown to serve over 100’s of young people this summer, providing them with a variety of activities, including basketball.
In addition to providing recreational activities, the Summer Nights Program also offers sessions on leadership skill building, health and wellness among other programs. Malcolm has also worked to make the Old Colony YMCA of Brockton program accessible to all young people, regardless of their abilities.
Malcolm’s dedication to providing safe and enriching opportunities for young people is an inspiration to us all. He is a true community leader, and we are grateful for his work.
Thank you, Malcolm, for making a difference in the lives of so many young people.
