Celtics NBA Draft Pick in the 2022 Draft, – Was it a Good Pick for the Home Team?
GetBoston Sports Comments on the Boston Celtics NBA Draft Pick from the 2022 Class.
So, last night the Boston Celtics picking J.D. Davison last night was a major surprise to me. I honestly forgot he was in the draft class with all the loaded talent, but with that talent he fits right in. Although he had a disappointing college career, he still managed to be an NBA draft pick so kudos to him, but he’s raw. Davison is an explosive jump through the roof athlete who has all the tools to become a solid NBA player, but landing with the right team is key to unlocking his full potential, and I think Boston is just the place for that. With Boston he’ll be able to have time to develop, combined with being around players like Tatum, Brown, Smart, and Horford, learning from them and making their routines his own. He’ll need to prove himself in the G-league before earning NBA minutes, and if he does that, he’ll get called up in no time. I don’t see Davison becoming a perennial all-star in the league, but becoming a valuable piece in an NBA rotation, possibly even a starter on a contending team.
