I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have played AAU basketball.
Before I became a basketball player, I was a long jumper in youth track and field competitions. I was also my kindergarten teacher’s best-behaved student.
AAU Basketball: The Beginning of My Love for the Game
I’ve been playing basketball since I was about 6 or 7 years old, and I can honestly say that it’s the love of my life. I started playing at the Framingham YMCA, where I learned the basics of the game and made some lifelong friends. I quickly fell in love with the competition, the teamwork, and the feeling of accomplishment that came from winning.
When I was 11 years old, I joined my first AAU team, YABC U13.Â
I was the youngest player on the team, but I quickly earned my spot by working hard and never giving up.Â
AAU basketball helped me to develop into the player I am today. It taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, and teamwork. It has also helped me to learn how to deal with adversity and to never give up on my dreams.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have played AAU basketball. It’s a great way to learn the game, meet new people, and make lifelong memories.
I hope to one day play college basketball and then go on to play professionally. But no matter where my basketball career takes me, I’ll always remember the beginning, when I was a young kid playing at the Framingham YMCA, and the love of the game was first born in me.
